Nancy Ivey brings 10 years retail sales experience to The Tapestree; 5 of those years were spent running her own retail business in the Cotton Exchange. Previous to that, her field of experiences was in accounting and office management.
Although Nancy considers herself semi-retired, we value her expertise and appreciate her time spent at The Tapestree. She enjoys spending time with the public and the customers love her!
Nancy grew up just eight blocks from the Cotton Exchange! She says, "I have seen quite a transformation from the downtown I grew up in and the downtown as we see it now. I remember buying my first "hi-fi" from Sears that was then located in part of the building that is the Cotton Exchange. I also remember going to the City Market with my mother to buy fresh groceries from local farmers and fish from the fishermen. What a change, but that's only a few..I could go on forever.
There's not many of us "true" locals left, so if you want to know more about the Old Wilmington; you will need to come to The Tapestree and I'll do my best to tell you all about what is was like growing up here in "the good ole days" while you are buying your beautiful tapestry.
Nancy spends leisure time with her 6 grandchildren.
